Feed My Starving Children
Once a month the church will organize a group to help pack food for Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville, IL. "Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking. Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development. FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook
The church works with Youth Services of Glenview/Northbrook to provide support, volunteers, donations and whatever else is needed to help their mission to serve the youth in our community. "Youth Services believes every child should grow up happy, healthy and hopeful. Our mission is to foster the social and emotional well-being of children and youth. Hunger Resources Network
The church works with Hunger Resources Network to provide support, volunteers, donations and whatever else is needed to help their mission to serve the provide food for those in need in our community. "Hunger Resource Network is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the alleviation of hunger by making connections between those who have surplus food and those who need it. Hunger Free Northbrook, a program of Hunger Resource Network, is an all-volunteer, community-wide effort focused on helping improve the food security of those in need in Northbrook and our surrounding communities. Across the five school districts and thirteen Northbrook public schools, there are currently more than 400 students who are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program based on last year’s numbers, which will soon be updated for the current school year. Northbrook Police and Fire Department Care Events
