“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen:
to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke,
to set the oppressed free

and break every yoke?"

“Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen...

Is it not to share your food with the hungry
and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter--
when you see the naked, to clothe them,

and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?"
-
Isaiah 58:6-7

The mission of the
Isaiah 58 Ministry is to fulfill God's purpose for us as His believers. It is, in fact, the Gospel in action. Below are the projects that you can get involved with!

Programs

Feed My Starving Children
Once a month the church will organize a group to help pack food for Feed My Starving Children in Libertyville, IL.

"Every year, millions of children die from preventable causes such as pneumonia, diarrhea, malaria and undernutrition. Hunger is still causing nearly half of deaths in children under 5 years old. From this data, we estimate at least 6,200 children die each day from causes related to undernutrition. This is heartbreaking.

Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) believes hope starts with food. As a Christian nonprofit, FMSC is dedicated to seeing every child whole in body and spirit. FMSC works with food distribution partners that stay with communities for the long haul, empowering them to move from relief to development.

FMSC meals are developed by food science and nutrition professionals to supplement nutritional needs and reduce problems with malnutrition. Nutrition allows children to grow, thrive and develop to their full potential." - Feed My Starving Children Website

Hunger Resources Network
The church works with Hunger Resources Network to provide support, volunteers, donations and whatever else is needed to help their mission to serve the provide food for those in need in our community.

"Hunger Resource Network is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the alleviation of hunger by making connections between those who have surplus food and those who need it.

Hunger Free Northbrook, a program of Hunger Resource Network, is an all-volunteer, community-wide effort focused on helping improve the food security of those in need in Northbrook and our surrounding communities.

Across the five school districts and thirteen Northbrook public schools, there are currently more than 400 students who are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program based on last year’s numbers, which will soon be updated for the current school year. We are initiating a monthly food pack program to provide these students with lunches and snacks on the weekends." - Hunger Resources Website
